Annual Carbon Assessment

Annual Carbon Assessment

Knowing where you are is the best place to start. Green Places uses methodology developed and supported by top climate institutions like UC Berkeley to calculate a business’ carbon footprint, identifying the total emissions your business is responsible for producing, and using (directly and indirectly). Understanding your emissions allows companies to be smart about what next steps they take on their climate journey!
Recycling

Recycling

From recycling at home to much larger corporate recycling and waste management programs, there are many benefits to utilizing recycling programs. Recycling diverts waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators, both high carbon producers. When recycled materials are made into new items, natural resources and the emissions used to manufacture new products are saved.
Composting

Composting

In 2017 alone, the United States generated roughly 41 million pounds of waste, which pollutes our water, soil and air. Composting leftover food items lowers the amount of trash produced, which in turn could save costs through waste disposal and trash pickups. Breaking down fruit and vegetable scraps into soil via composting can also extend its ability to foster fresh plant growth, which can benefit not only your company but your larger community.
Hybrid / Remote Working

Hybrid / Remote Working

Flexible remote working can be beneficial to businesses and employees alike. Having a hybrid workforce reduces travel time and emissions from daily commuting as well as reduces the need for larger office spaces that require energy to maintain. Working from home also can reduce waste and costs associated with building office supplies such as paper, ink, and single-use utensils while also minimizing general waste generation.
