Noro-Moseley Partners' Sustainability Plan

We are committed to encouraging sustainable practices for our firm and for our portfolio companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. Sustainability and societal benefits are key considerations in our investment selection process. We have a history of investing in healthcare businesses focused on low-income populations, such as findhelp, the largest social services search and referral network in the U.S., and Upward Health, which provides access to primary and behavioral care to underserved patients with complex conditions. "We all want to live in a healthy, sustainable environment. At NMP, we are proud to partner with our technology and healthcare portfolio companies to build sustainable value." - Allen Moseley, Managing Partner

Our Initiatives

Air Travel Reduction

Air Travel Reduction

With ubiquity and utility of Zoom meetings, our overall annual flight miles have been reduced by ~50%. According to experts, 3-4% of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States come from commercial air travel. While there are several promising solutions to reduce travel emissions on the horizon, there are also ways companies can fly smarter right now. The first step is to determine exactly what warrants business travel and eliminate any travel that can be deemed unnecessary. When booking flights, businesses can commit to use Google’s flight carbon calculator and choose flight paths with the least emissions. Combined, these practices are cost saving and better for the environment, lowering overall emissions and eliminating unnecessary travel.

Electrify Fleet

Electrify Fleet

A portion of NMP's company auto fleet consists of electric/hybrid vehicles. Not only are hybrid and electric vehicles becoming increasingly popular and attainable to the mass market, companies can also utilize these options for their fleet vehicles. Although these options can be more expensive up front, eliminating and reducing fossil fuel emissions is better for the planet and better for company finances. Electrifying your company fleet can also signify the company's commitment to sustainability.

Plastic Cups

Plastic Cups

Our employees own reusable water bottles to use with our drinking water filtration system in the office. One of the most important mottos to follow is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Reducing single-use plastics in the office lowers the amount of waste and pollution added to our environment. Instead, employees actively choose to use reusable water bottles and travel mugs that save money and are better for the planet. There are even compostable or recyclable paper options for business to utilize.

Recycling

Recycling

We have recycling bins throughout the office that are utilized for when reusable materials are not an option. Recycling diverts waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators, both high carbon producers. When recycled materials are made into new items, natural resources and the emissions used to manufacture new products are saved.

Motion Activated Lighting

Motion Activated Lighting

We have motion-activated lighting in our offices to reduce unnecessary energy usage. Similar to unplugging and turning off devices when they are not in use, motion activated lighting can reduce excess energy consumption, thus reducing your footprint.

Ecycling

Ecycling

At Noro-Moseley Partners, we ecycle our electronics and electronic related waste. E-waste is a rapidly growing obstacle in the United States. Electronics are crafted from a combination of toxic and non-toxic materials that can pollute the environment when disposed of in landfills or incinerated. Ecycling prevents these toxins from entering the ecosystem and conserves our natural resources to avoid greenhouse gas emissions that are caused by manufacturing virgin materials.
